how to manage large lists if list view threshold value increase for a document library?

We are using  sharepoint 2010 farm for Document archiving.

we configured search .

In this farm it has two web applications and users upload documents to these applications using custom scan solution.

In  web application

- content organizer feature is enabled

- documents uploaded to DropOffLibrary and content organizer job runs and route documents to Document1 library

- In document1 library it has 1300 folders and each folder has 2500 documents

here the no of documents in future will grow

here my question is if the no of documents  increase 

1. can i increase list view threshold?

2. or can i route documents to another document library ?

3. can i keep this settings what problems i wil face?
