User SharePoint issues

Users are complaining of issues while trying to open Excel documents connected to the SharePoint Server.

I am not finding any errors except for;

SP 10016 Error Microsoft-Windows-DistributedCOM System 11/9/2015 6:21:27 AM

Could this be related to the issue, the way previous IT setup this server was just with SharePoint access but they never had any of the computers join the domain thus it was working for them and it still works but with some pain-point like having to enter their SP password multiple times.

I have been able to use Sharepoint and open Excel but I got a new computer and I am not sure if I have been able to open it through this computer.  I have been able to open some today but it quickly stopped working.  I can get into Sharepoint and then I will choose an excel file and it will ask me for a password and then once I input the password it stops working and gives me the not responding message.
