I have a 3 server Sharepoint 2010 farm set up with User Profile Synch to AD. Everything is importing and exporting correctly but I have an issue with profiles being automatically deleted instead of putting them into a temporary state when someone is removed.
If I move a user from an OU that is set to synchronize with Sharepoint I thought it would mark that user for deletion then email the corresponding manager. What is happening is that when the manager receives the email the profile is already gone. Here is the email that the manager receives which I am aware cannot be changed.
Subject: The My Site of [user] is scheduled for deletion
The My Site of [user] is scheduled for deletion in 14 days. As their manager you are now the temporary owner of their site. This temporary ownership gives you access to the site to copy any business-related information you might need. To access the site use this URL:http://domain/personal/[user]
This is an issue because once the profile is gone I cannot access any of their content which they had stored. Also I have my AD OU's organized by department and if someone changes departments I move them to another OU and their profile is completely erased. I need to figure out how to make sure these profiles stop getting deleted.
