Cannot Navigate to the requested page while user profile synchronization is running please wait for the current sync run to finish

Hey Team SP,

I'm installing SP 2010 enterprise, I started the user profile sync before I added the managed metadata service and now I cant get the user profile sysnc to stop. I let it run over night but and its still going.

My Question is how do i get the profile sysnc to stop so that I can add a new connection.

Things I tried so far:

• I rebooted the server
• I tried to disable the service

Any assistance will be great
