too big StateService.ldf, how to reduce it?

a very big stateService.ldf, larger than 1T. This occupied most of the disk.

I have to find some ways to reduce it, at the time there's no free disk.

can it been done just use "DBCC SHRINKFILE"? will that cause some errors?

I have not ever done this before, and at the moment I can not even have a try.

anyone who knows piease tell me, thanks very much!

by the way, we have lots of workflows running in sharepoint.
