User Profile sync connection not working when trying to enable SSL-secured connection

Hello,

Please help me out here. When I am going to User Profile sync connection (UPS>configure sync connection > rigth click on connection > edit > here i am trying to enable the checkbox "use ssl-secured connection". When i do that and populate containers, it showing me error "the LDAP server is unavailable".

But when i do not select that checkbox, it will populate containers and when i click on ok , it is working. The problem is only happening when I am trying to Enable the SSL-secured connection. see screenshot below.

Could you please guide me to the correct direction?Please let me know what am I missing here? Is there anything to change in Active Directory before enabling ssl secured connection?
