Migration based upgrade Sharepoint 3.0 on Windows server 2003 to Sharepoint Foundation 2010 on Windows server 2012 R2

Hello!

I need to upgrade from Sharepoint 3.0 SP 2 on a Windows server 2003 with SQL 2005 to Sharepoint 2010 on a Windows server 2012 R2 with SQL 2012. The thing is, I can't find any information close to my situation on how to do the migration upgrade. I looked everywhere and every place give me different procedures.

How should I proceed to upgrade from  Sharepoint 3.0 SP 2 on a Windows server 2003 with SQL 2005 to Sharepoint 2010 on a Windows server 2012 R2 with SQL 2012? Is it even possible?

Also, we don't have a lot of things on our sharepoint, only a couple of lists and documents. Would it be easier to just install Sharepoint 2013 on the Windows server 2012 and start over and recreate everything instead from scratch instead of migrating it to 2010 and then upgrading to 2013?

Everything looks so complicated for sharepoint!
