Hi
We have a couple of Web Applications and everything works fine if you want to open a OneNote file from the OneNote Webapp view and click on "Open in OneNote" to open the document in the OneNote Client.
But one Web Application did have a problem to open existing OneNote files in that way. The following error is coming up at the OneNote client side:
“The file can’t be open or recognized from OneNote. Maybe it is not an OneNote File.”
I was investigating the following scenarios who not working:
- I changed the template on that library in the way that I used the template from the working WebApplications sites and created new OneNote file in a new Site Collection as well.
- I tried to open the file directly over WebDav and the OneNote client
- Copy files to the PC and tried to open them …
The following are working to open files in client software:
- Copy the files with WebDav to the PC and use “/forcerepair”
- Create a file on the client and save/upload over the Client software to the SharePoint library. (But at the SharePoint Library the Notebook file was showing up as a folder which included the .one files.
If somebody has an idea it will most appreciated ;)
Thanks in advance.
Regards
Michael
