SharePoint Farm Back Up and Restore

Hi, 

We are in a real bad position. We have a SharePoint Farm having one server as both WFE and App Server and one Server as DB.

It has SharePoint Server 2010 installed on it with patch level Service Pack 1 ( I know it's really old).

Somehow, some installer files got deleted from the SharePoint directory and now although the farm is running fine, we cannot upgrade it to SP 2. We get error. Our only way is to setup a new farm and get everything over to it.

Could you please tell me the entire steps to do this just in case we miss anything? Please do not ask me to trouble shoot the error as its been more than two months and even Microsoft gave up on that. Their only suggestion was to setup a new server, get it to same patch level as this one and then restore everything on the new server and then patch it to SP 2. Finally decommission the old server.

Please let me know how should I go ahead on this. This is really very urgent now.
