copy-spsite for sharepoint online

Hello,

One of our customers needs an option to copy a site collection from one url to another, in an on premise solution this would be easy, using the copy-spsite, but it turns out this isn't included in the online version.

Is there any way to work around this?

I've tried saving the site as a template with the content included, but this way i have to keep exporting it as a solution file as it doesn't show up under the list of templates to choose from.

I can't believe this cmdlet has been left out of the sharepoint online functionality, can MS support do this for me? can they enable the feature?

Or is there another way to simply copy the site collection?
