The question is sort of simple; we have an existing SQL 2012 instance where we have our DW and OLAP cubes we are planning to do a SharePoint 2010 Enterprise install on a seperate host.
The question(s) are as such:
A.) Should we just leverage the existing license we have for SQL 2008 R2 to do the repository on the SharePoint host?
B.) Should we install a 2012 instance on the SharePointhost?
C.) Should we leverage the previously configured SQL Server 2012 on the DWDB host?
My preference is A.) which gives me a standalone on the SharePoint, but I am not sure and can't find any knowledge as to whether there is value add to having SharePoint on 2012 DB or if all the PowerPivot, PowerView benefits would be fully faciltated by our DWDB host.
Anyone know the answer? I appreciate pondering and speculation, but I'd really prefer to hear from folks who know the answer from knowledge or experience.
