User Profile Sync - Pre-windows 2000 domain name

Hi there,

I use SharePoint 2010. I just provisioned a new UPSA. 
In Active Directory Users & Compuiters > I right click on our forest name > Properties:
I can see the forest name is ourcompany.com BUT the Domain Name (Pre Windows 2000) is FFD. <----- Situation
Our accounts should show up as FFD\John or FFD\Mary and so on. <-- SHOULD
BUT
After sync, our accounts in User Profile show up as ourcompany\John ourcompany\mary etc <-- Happens like this.

Question:- What do I need to do so after sync, in UPAS our names show up as FFD\john and not ourcompany\John.
