CurrentSiteCount 0 after upgraded sites, and unresponsive database?

Hello,

We have a MOSS 2007 server farm, upgrading to 2010 using database attach.

First I created a new web application on 2010, and then deleted the new web application content database and replaced with our old one from 2007 and the web application site came up properly.

I have mounted the rest of the content databases to the web application, however each site collection shows 0 sites now.

The Original 2007 layout is like this,

One Web Application: Http://teams.domain.com/

And multiple site collections: Http://teams.domain.com/sites/Accounting,  Http://teams.domain.com/sites/sales, etc.

Another issue...When I first ran the pre-upgrade check I had one issue.  <<<<<WHY DOES MS CHAT BOX MAKE TEXT SMALLER WHEN YOU DELETE EMPTY SPACE? SO ANNOYING!!!!

Potential Upgrade Blocking Issues
Issue : Unsupported SQL Server or unresponsive database
The following SQL server(s) do not meet the minimal version requirement:
DataSource = msSQL01, Version = 9.0.3042.0, 64-bit Edition = Yes, Express Edition = No

Now I've updated the SQL version, but when I run the pre-upgrade check I'm getting:

Issue : Unsupported SQL Server or unresponsive database

The server is responsive to SQL management studio, and all sites are currently running fine... and the SQL version is higher than required.

Enterprise Edition (64-bit) on Windows NT 5.2 (Build 3790: Service Pack 2)

Any help getting sp2010 to recognize my site collections from 2007 would be greatly appreciated!
