Hi there.
I have a doc library in a site without "inherit" turned on. I want to give some users read permissions, so I add then to the visitors group.
This gives them access to the site but cannot see the files in the doc lib. The doc lib permissions are set to inherit the permissions from the site.
When I change the vistor group permissions and give it "contribute" rights, my users can now see the files!
What's going on? Ideally I only want to give them read rights, but right now it's read/contribute or nothing.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
