This seems to be a pretty common problem but as yet I haven't found anything that has helped me. The full crawl is stuck in a stopping state. I have tried to stop it via the central admin and by powershell. It just sits at 'Stopping'. This is sharepoint 2010 enterprise. enterprise search, not fast search.
Is there something I can stop in services.msc that would not break my search service application.
Any ideas what else can be done to stop this.
