Hi, I have been searching for a solution to this problem for a long time and found nothing. Basically we have a public facing SharePoint site and we want users to be able to download Word files so they can be filled out and sent back through email. Download seems to be disabled and I've tried everything I can think of to try and enable downloads. If the login prompt is cancelled it will display a 404 error.
As anonymous I can go into the library and see the document, and I can edit it using Office Web Apps but when I try to download it, no go. Even the document drop-down menu does NOT have "Send to > download a copy" whereas all non Office documents do. How can I enable downloading?
