search in sharepoint 2010

my question is related to search engine in sharepoint 2010. after configuration of search service and presently everything is fine..

1. but suddenly search stops working, what are the basic things that we need to check and

2. keywords are added but we cannot see them in search result, can any one tel the resolution for this .. thanks in advance
