Instant Messaging in SharePoint 2010 without the Lync client

Hi,

We have a intranet site and we want to add a instant messaging facility, where in user can chat with each other.
Is there way we can integrate msn messenger or skype for instant chatting with other users? We dont want to install Microsoft Office Communications Server for this
