Connect to Managed Metadata on a SPS 2013 farm

Hi,

I have a 2013 farm With managed metadata service running.

I'm trying to use the 2013 MMS in a 2010 farm. The MMS in the 2013 farm uses a MMs database converted from the 2010 farm.

I've imported the certificates as stated in the tecnet article and published the mms in the 2013 farm.

I also created a mms Proxy in the 2010 farm.

Do I have to keep the "old" mms service in the 2010 farm to make all the contenttypes etc to work as before?

I tried to remove the mms service in the 2010 farm and just keep the Connection Proxy to the mms in the 2013 farm, but then I can't Select values for document Properties stored in the termset. T.ex I have a column in the document Library named process that use the termset. When I create a New document, or edit an old one, the Controls for the prosess Field and selector is grey and not editable/clickable.

From the site settings I can open the termstore to see (and edit if a user With permissions) terms.
