User Profile Synchronization

Hi,

Im having problems starting the User Profile Sync Service. After trying to start for about 15mins it fails with error below in Uls:

ILM Configuration: Error 'ERR_CONFIG_DB'.

and

UserProfileApplication.SynchronizeMIIS: Failed to configure MIIS post database, will attempt during next rerun. Exception: System.Configuration.ConfigurationErrorsException

Ive setup the accounts, service applications etc as in the guide: http://www.harbar.net/articles/sp2010ups.aspx (yes ive recreated everything and went from the beginning a dosen of times)

The thing is that we are running an sql cluster and im not sure the Forefront Identity manager connects correctly. Ive tried solving this by setting up sql aliases but im not sure how to do that for a sql cluster.

Im also getting "The Managed Metadata Service 'Managed Metadata Service' is inaccessible." in the logs but im not sure its related.
