Can we change SharePoint Farm account Credentials?

Hi,

Can we be able to change the SharePoint Farm account Credentials.

What happens when we change the credentials ,Whether farm does down. Do need to change any app pools credentials & related service accounts credentials.

Please help me how to schedule powershell script for backup farm daily using windows task scheduler.
