SharePoint 2010 - Delete usage log files

I am changing Logs folder path from C:\ drive to D:\

I need to remove all existing files from LOGS folder on C:\

can i directly remove those files or i need to perform any other steps to remove those files ?

I have seen below options, but not sure how to proceed.

1. After stoping timer job, logs files will be removed automatically

2. Remove all the logs file manually.

Please advice me.
