Delete list error using stsadm

I tried to delete a couple of broken lists (deployed via Visual Studio 2010) using stsadm command, but got the error message <nativehr>0x80070057</nativehr><nativestack></nativestack>. I am a site collection admin and have full control on the site. The command I used was:

stsadm.exe -o forcedeletelist -url list_url
