companyweb does not load

So we are running Sharepoint 2010 on a SBS 2011 (I have inherited this set-up). A few weeks ago a number of patches were applied to the server and now when trying to navigate to companyweb We get Page Cannot be Displayed. The server can display it fine and sometimes other machines can too but not with any regularity. I have went through this article but cannot locate the Sharepoint Databases to look at:

I have also went through this article in an effort to re-run psconfig but the most recent update appears to have failed based on the log files.

I have not got much if any experience in Sharepoint and my apologies if this has been rehashed I just want to see a new thread that I can follow start to finish without being loaded down with crap.
