AD picture change and following sharepoint mysite picture change

Hello,

I have following case:
I created personal site for user. When this personal site was created, picture was added to inner libraries of the SharePoint.(thumbnail, etc).
Then, picture in AD was edited.
Then, synchronization process was completed.

How can I tell to SharePoint to modify already existing pictures in inner library of the SharePoint?(except  Update-SPProfilePhotoStore cmdlet)
Do I understand correct that SharePoint will show "old" picture from AD, until we excute Update-SPProfilePhotoStore cmdlet?
