I am on SharePoint 2010 Enterprise Edition SP2 August 2013 CU and I am setting up another WebApp. I am creating new search application, and did a full crawl onhttp://SERVER:99 (for instance) and then I created a new User Profile Service Application and then a new My Site Host Site Collection and then a new Enterprise Search Center and when I went to go back tohttp://SERVER:99 I get a 404 error! I just refreshed the page, I didn't do an IISReset, etc. This is running in my production environmenthttp://server:80 and I am on the local box, in Central Admin as system account.
I have had this happen before on my development server box, and I took the content database and had to export it out another webapp likehttp://server:999 with backup and restore in SQL. I thought it was something that I did and because it was Development
In production, I CAN get to my Enterprise Search, Site Collection, that I made:http://SERVER:99/sites/Search/_layouts/settings.aspx but when I try to go to / root, of web app, 404.
