Inviting Synced SP Calendar from Personal Calendar

Hello-

We have a department calendar synced between SP and Outlook.  Is it possible to invite that calendar to a meeting from our own personal calendar in Outlook?  So for example, we want to add PTO to our department calendar.  Can I go into my personal Outlook calendar and invite the synced SP calendar?  If so, how do I get that set up?
