SharePoint not giving me the option to check out a document

Hi,

SharePoint not giving me the option to check out a document here in my office. However at home with VPN access I can check a document in and out.  

I have enabled "Require this document to be checked out before they can be edited" option in Library settings.

Please let me know how I should proceed with this issue.
