New Sharepoint 2010 from crashed 2007 Sharepoint Srever

Our 2007 Server has crashed and looks like it may not be recoverable. Our SQL Server is fine with all data intact. I have built a new 2012 Server with SharePoint 2010 but when I run the SharePoint Configuration Wizard it tells me the specified database is not a valid configuration database. (I was hoping that I was correctly doing a database attach upgrade but it doesn't appear so.)

I can go back to a new 2007 setup if necessary. Just looking for advice on best way to get system back up and running.
