Change size of default profile thumbnails

Hello,

I've searched about this topic and all the answers say there is no chance to get a different size of the 3 default sizes.

I ask the question because this article “5 Ways Social Networking Has Improved in SharePoint 2010” (http://www.cmswire.com/cms/enterprise-20/5-ways-social-networking-has-improved-in-sharepoint-2010-007325.php) shows a profile screenshot of "Eric Gruber" where the image size of Eric’s photo looks bigger than the default size of the “large” sharepoint profile thumbnails (144x72).

Is possible to do that? In my company we are really interested in have profile images with dimensions (height and weight) like Eric Gruber's profile photo.
