Hi,
I am an accidental sharepoint administrator and my understanding of the sharepoint is minimal.
We have an internal website, which has several other sub-sites which are department specific.
For example ,
s1.example.com/offices/ is my main site
s1.example.com/offices/boston is my sub-site which has HR, Finance sites as sub-sites.
This whole setup is Intranet only and uses AD authentication.
My understanding is, if we extend this site to the INTERNET, then I have to extend the Web application to another ZONE. The application is currently within the default zone.
Once we make the site available on the internet, the site is now available from both internet and intranet, but I would think it is the same content and view.
Can we make a separate view to be shown if the website is accessed from the INTERNET and separate view if it is from the INTRANET ?
Something like, when the web site is accessed from the internet FINANCE and HR sub-sites should not be shown at all, instead very generic information like contact information etc can be seen.
But when accessed from the INTRANET, the site shows all the content.
Is that even possible ?
Thanks and Regards,
A
