Need your valuable suggestions and recommendations on upgrading Window Server 2003 to Windows Server 2008 R2.

We have a SharePoint 2007 environment running on Windows Server 2003, now we are planning to upgrade the windows servers to Windows Server 2008 R2 with SharePoint 2007 version. Need below information before we proceed on up gradation.

1. Are there any major impact on SharePoint 2007 site contents? If any, please list them out.
2. What are the potential risk on the up gradation from windows 2003 to Windows 2008 R2?
3. Are there any best practices which can be followed for upgradation?
4. How to moved the SharePoint contents and configuration from Windows Server 2003 to Windows Server 2008 R2.
