Very slow performance in BCS External List

Hi, we are just experimenting with External Lists. We have a farm with one WFE with SPS 2010 Enterprise and one SQL that holds several instances. The database we are using contains one table with 25 fields (all varchar(30)) and a compound primary key consisting of two nchar-fields. There 399 items in the table.

We created an ECT with SharePoint Designer with no filters and created an External List for that.

Now, when we open the list, it takes around 30 seconds to populate the data and show the first 30 items in the list. And that is way too long for that amount of data. I tested it on a standalone system and the list shows up in a second.

The weird thing is, that the SQL Query doesn't take the time, I checked that with SQL Profile and the BCS data in the Trace logs. The largest part of the time is consumed by the WebApp Application Pool and it also uses 100% of one core for about 25 seconds.

The farm uses Kerberos Authentication, if that could be one of the reasons. I didn't find anything in the logs that lead into the right direction ... :(

Anyone can help?
