Web Application URL with no host header in SharePoint 2013

Hi All, 

In a multiserver farm when Web application is created "with out" host header value mentioned so that this web app can be used to create HNSCs later , it automatically picks up my App server name as URL for this web app and also for root level site collection  . Is this right behavior? Will it impact Host Names Site Collections if i create and redirect HNSC to the WFE IP or load balance IP ?
