What are risks while Recreating UPS Application Proxy for existing UPS Application ?

Hello,

My SharePoint farm has logged error mentioned in following Microsoft Support Article :

However, resolution is to recreating the User Profile Service Application Proxy.

Would you please let me know whether its safe to perform such task for already existing user profile service application?

Would you please provide me risk points ?
