Remove row wrapping in a list item

Hello,

I've been experimenting with row wrapping and the various column limits in SharePoint. It seems that once a list starts row wrapping, it stays that way. Even if you delete columns in the list (even down to just one column), the list items still wrap in the database. If I delete all the list items and add more, they still wrap.

Is this truly the case? If so, is there a way to "remove" or "reset" the wrapping?

FYI, I'm using the SQL query, tp_RowOrdinal=1, to see if the list item in wrapping (on my dev machine).
