Hi All,

I am working on SharePoint 2010. I am facing problem as SharePoint stopped unexpectedly. I am working on UAT server on client side. So its urgent.

We are facing the problem since we were fixing the issues to access the OWA (Outlook Web Access). Now we can access the OWA.

We are facing same problem with Administrator account too.

The Main Problem:

1. I cant open the Central Administration site. When I am going to open the CA it throws an error page with "Unexpected error". So I cant access the CA and unable to try solutions that I found on the internet.

Facing same when browsing from IIS.

2. All the other sites are also not working and giving page with error "404 Page not found".

Facing same when browsing from IIS.

Some Details:

  1. All the sites are running in IIS.
  2. All application pools in IIS are running.
  3. All the required services are running.

Error : Please find the Event log details below.

1) First error is:

2) Second Error is:

server's diagnostic trace logs for more information..

3) Third Error is:

the URL http://server:1111.  This may cause incorrect links to be stored or returned to users.  If this is expected,

add the URL http://server:1111 as an AAM response URL.  For more information, see: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=114854"/>

Event ID : 8059
Task Category : Configuration

All the errors are coming back to back. I tried to find the solution on the internet and found some solution but all the solutions are related to UI.

What I think:

It looks like it is an authentication problem but unable to find (or resolve) the (exact) problem.

Questions:

  1. How to resolve the issue so that SharePoint come again in working?
  2. Is there any impact of fixing the OWA ? if yes then what?
  3. Is it permission issue? if yes then how can it be happen because same user and permission were working earlier.
  4. Why the same problem is coming with the Administrator too?
  5. Why different error on CA site and other error on other sites?

Please help as it is very urgent.

Hi,

I've tried to to install System Center Operation manager dashboard to Sharepoint.

upgrade script asked to manually clear C:\windows\assembly.

As it was official MS script - I've done it.

As you may guess - SharePoint failed.

I've restore content of the directory C:\windows\assembly from backup. BUT now getting error

I have Sharepoint 2010 and only have dll version 14.0.0.

SharePoint Foundation Site Web Analytics reports

Hi,

I am currently attempting to get the Site Web Analytics reports to work in SharePoint Foundation.  However, there seems to be little available information regarding this.  What is necessary for this to display a report?  To start with, what SharePoint & Windows services and SharePoint service applications need to be started?  We use SQL Authentication for the content database because all the databases are in a different domain.

Any information someone can shed would be helpful.

Currently, when I navigate to the page it states "A web analytics report is not available for this site.  Usage processing may be disabled on this server or the usage data for this site has not been processed yet."  I have looked up this information on the net, but nearly all information applies to SharePoint Server.  I need help setting this up with SharePoint Foundation.

Thank you much.

Web Analytics Reports (SharePoint FOUNDATION)

Hello. Recently migrated from WSS 3.0 to SharePoint Foundation using database Detach/Attach method.

I understand that Sharepoint FOUNDATION has very basic web analytic reporting, but we are having a problem with our home site (root) from reporting any usuage information.

On my main site, when I go to Site Actions, Site Settings, Site Web Analytics reports, all data for Page Views, Unique Visitors, are all 0. They have been like this since the day I did the migration.  However, if I go to any subsite, I do see values and all analytic reports are displaying correctly.

Where do I even start looking to correct this? I do not have any even log warnings or errors and the admin site reports no health issues.

Thanks in advance,

Mike

SharePoint Foundation 2010 Site Web Analytics reports Problem

When I go to Site Settings\Site Actions\ Site Web Analytics reports in one user site, it shows me the message below:

"A web analytics report is not available for this site. Usage processing may be disabled on this server or the usage data for this site has not been processed yet."

But when I go to Central Administration site, the page can show the correct analytics report. My user –the admin of the site collection also reports that she can view the analysis report before, but not sure when it became unavailable

I have done quite a bit of research on it, but haven't been able to find a solution yet. I’m sure that both

(1)   Enable usage data collection and Enable health data collection was checked under

Central Administration\Monitoring\Reporting\Configure usage and health data collection

(2)    All the built in services are started in the server

(3)    I have waited more than 24 hours

(4)    I have given all service account read/write access to that log folder

(5)    Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Usage Data Import  & Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Usage Data Processing  are running  in schedule

(6)    Solution Daily Resource Usage Update  SharePoint & Solution Resource Usage Log Processing  running in the user’s Web Application

Below are my System environments with all latest patched:

ü  Microsoft Windows 2008 R2 STD Edition SP1

ü  SQL Server 2008 R2 STD Edition SP1

ü  SharePoint Foundation 2010 SP1

Any idea where I might be going wrong? Thanks in advance

SharePoint Foundation 2010 - Web Analytics Reports

Hello,

I am getting conflicting information about Web Analytics Reports in SharePoint Foundation 2010.

Under Central Administration, Monitoring, Configure web analytics and health data collection, usage data collection is enabled.

However, when viewing a report, I see:

"A web analytics report is not available for this site. Usage processing may be disabled on this server or the usage data for this site has not been processed yet".

Are web reports on site usage data built via the service applciations? If so, why is this "enable" feature available? Does web reporting actually work in SharePoint Foudnation?

Infopath 2010 Web forms on Sharepoint 2010 keep timing out

$

I have changed the session state and data connection time outs to 48 hours.  My infopath web forms keep timing out if someone waits too long.  I have a lengthy Performance Evaluation form in Infopath and users pause to answer the phone or get distracted with other things and when they go back to the form it times out and they have to start over.  This is very bad since a performance review can contain lots of text that they have to reenter every time.

Is there someplace else other than central administrator, infopath form services to change these values?  Does it require a reboot of the server to take effect?

We have a strange problem while crawling the content

source. The crawler was able to crawl the http://llw  with

out any problem but whenever we gave the bindings to this

URL (when the url is being accessed via https) then it is

unable to crawl the full content. We are getting Less

successes in the Crawl Log and displaying less search

results.Whenever we start the crawl we get the following

warning in the Event Logs:

Event Id:14, Sharepoint server search

The start address http://llw cannot be crawled.

Context: Application 'Search_Service_Application', Catalog

'Portal_Content'

Details:
Access is denied. Verify that either the Default

Content Access Account has access to this repository, or

add a crawl rule to crawl this repository. If the

repository being crawled is a SharePoint repository, verify

that the account you are using has "Full Read" permissions

on the SharePoint Web Application being crawled.

(0x80041205)

And in the crawl log we get the following Top Level Errors:

sts4s://llw
An unrecognized HTTP response was received when attempting

to crawl this item. Verify whether the item can be accessed

using your browser. ( Error from SharePoint site:

WebExceptionStatus ServerProtocolViolation The server

Access Account has access to this repository, or add a

crawl rule to crawl this repository. If the repository

being crawled is a SharePoint repository, verify that the

account you are using has "Full Read" permissions on the

SharePoint Web Application being crawled.

I have tried the following things till now:

1)Disabled loop back check entry existing on all the servers.

2)Host file entry present in the hosts file.

3)Set Ignore SSL warnings to Yes in Farm – Level search

settings.
4)Reset my index and started all my crawls over from

scratch.

5)Created a new search service application and tested but the same result.

Verified the site is accessible from all the index servers and crawl server.

5) Cleared the cache.ini file

6) We are using Farm account as the Search service account and Default content access account.

Please help. Any suggestions would be helpful in solving the issue.

Users imported from AD appear in SharePoint 2010 Central Administration but not My Site

$

I'm new to SharePoint and have installed Sharepoint Server on my local machine running Windows 7. I've successfully imported 115 users from Active Directory by using the following guide to set up User Profile Synchronisation.

http://www.harbar.net/articles/sp2010ups.aspx

If I go to Sharepoint 2010 Central Administration > Application Management > Manage service Applications > Click my User Profile Service Application > Manage User Profiles I can search for the accounts I have imported and make changes.

Next if I go to http://MyLocalMachine:5006 (I used port 5006 for my Web Application URL) to load My Site and then search for one of the profiles I have imported it is not found. The only profile I can view is my own and it doesn't have the updated information from AD. I can see all the profiles in the SharePoint Profile DB in table UserProfile_Full

Is there something I need to do to make the profiles I have imported visible within My Site? I have tried manually running the 'My Site Cleanup Job'.

Search Server Error - Illegal operation attempted on a registry key that has been marked for deletion

Hello,

I have a 5 server farm (DC, 2 WFEs, 1 SQL,1 CA w/ search) and am experiencing an issue when returning search results.  This issue just started occurring recently, and basically the search page throws a correlation id whenever used.  The error returned is:

SearchServiceApplication::Execute--Exception: System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x800703FA): Illegal operation attempted on a registry key that has been marked for deletion. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800703FA)
SearchServiceApplicationProxy::Execute--Error occured: System.ServiceModel.FaultException`1[System.ServiceModel.ExceptionDetail]: Illegal operation attempted on a registry key that has been marked for deletion. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800703FA) (Fault Detail is equal to An ExceptionDetail, likely created by IncludeExceptionDetailInFaults=true, whose value is: System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException: Illegal operation attempted on a registry key that has been marked for deletion. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800703FA)

I even attempted to create an out of the box enterprise search site with OOB masterpages and I still am receiving this error.

I have also tried the  ‘Do not forcefully unload the registry at user logoff’ registry edit, but it did not work.

Has anyone ran into this issue and has another solution other than the ‘Do not forcefully unload the registry at user logoff’ registry edit?

Thanks!
