Custom List in a custom site template reverts back to the original list layout on a different server/environment

Hi everyone,

I'm having the following issue that I can't figure out, and was not able to find anything online.

SetUp:

• I created a custom list by using a Contact Content Type. I hid some fields on that list, and then saved it as a template list.
• Then I used that custom list template to create a list on a site. When I did that the list was created with the correct fields showing, just like I wanted.
• I saved the site as a template so I could use it on other site collections as my default site template.

When the custom site template was uploaded to another site collection, which was on another server I ran into the following problem.

• When I create a site using my site template, the custom list has ALL the original fields on the Contact content type displayed. All the fields that I hid are now showing.
• All the fields show up under the List Settings as not being hidden
• All the fiels also show up on the New Item form.

When I went back to the site collection and server where I created the site template with that list, and create a site using that site template, the site was created, and the list in question had the correct settings, as in the hidden fields were hidden.

How can I make that template custom list keep the settings that I made on it?

Why did the template list on my template site reverted back to the original settings and didn't keep the hidden fields hidden?

Additional information:

I am not a Farm Admin. I do not have access to Central Admin. I am not even a Site Collection Admin on the server where my custom site template is deployed. :(
