Creating DNS Record for MySite

Hello, 

I created a web application for MySite. I wonder what IP Address put for DNS A Record? I read that I suppose to give Application Server's IP address instead of giving WFE Server's IP Address. Is it true? I thought we always provide traffic over WFE Server.
