How can we track the downloads that happen to the user's machine from sharepoint 2010 site?
In our site, we have enabled audit logging and when we generate the reports, we get the views and downloads. But it is noticed that if the user clicks on a file, the option to open/save/cancel would come up. If the user clicks cancel also, the audit log report shows an entry for view.
The requirement is to capture when a file is actually downloaded to the user's local machine from the site collection. The audit logs is not giving an accurate number, since cancel is also tracked as view/download. How to track the downloads?
