Sharepoint 2010 - Alert Me - send alerts to groups.

Hi Everyone

Can i send an alert or set an alerts to a Group on Alert me? it only adds user but not group? is this possible?

I'm trying to make it work on a workflow using Sharepoint designer 2010, but the problem is it always stuck on starting i have tried the solutions that they gave me on my recent post here:

but my workflow is stil stuck in starting

i want to add items then email alert the users.
