The view failed to load. Press OK to reload this view with the default settings.Do I have to install SP1 and Cumulative Update before??

Published a project in PS 2010 and by accessing the view in Project Center gave me the following message:
The view failed to load. Press OK to reload this view with the default settings.
In some research I found that you need to update installing Cumulative Update for June, 2011.
The question is: Do I have to install SP1 and Cumulative Update before??
