AD Synchronization SharePoint Foundation

Hello:

We are running SharePoint Foundation 2010 (free version) in our organization and wanted to know if there is a way to synchronize users with AD.  Since the foundation version does not offer the User Profile Synchronization service application, how can we achieve this?  Perhaps a powershell script?
