SP 2010 - Install & Configuration - UPS Error and miscellaneous

Thanks to read. I followed lot of sites and tutorial about SP 2010, how to install and configure it but I am not able to start the User Synchronisation Profile. I would like manage my local users and add them a mail address.

Here is the context :

1 VM with 2008 R2 and SQL 2008 R2
I would like to install SharePoint to creat a team site in order to centralize our data and also manage projects. This server is outside a domain and hosts also a SQL 2008 R2. User will be created locally and visible in sharepoint.

Aim : Install SP on this server (uniq server) and manage local user in complete mode

To allow local user with complete mode I have run NEw-SPCOnfigurationDatabase, create database SharePoint_Config.It works perfectly

To install SP i followed Harbar Blog (http://www.harbar.net/articles/sp2010ups.aspx) and also TEchnet.

During installation everything is fine, i follow step by step the tutorials but when i want to start UPS it doesn't work (30-40 min after clicking on start)

What I did ?

All requirements have been installed and also Hotfix (as Harbar suggested it). Install has been launched with option Farm Server and Complete mode.

Regarding Service and user account. I have created (locally, there is no AD )

SP_Adminè Manage server SP Farm

SP_Servicesè Manage SP Services

These users have rights on Sharepoint_Config database. They have been added to Administrator Local Group and allowed to logon locally

I – Install SP 2010

II – Run SharePoint Product Configuration Wizard

III- Adding SP_Admin and SP_Services in SP Managed account

IV – Create a new Web Application with SP_Admin

After this I can see following error in Event Viewer

Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

V – Reset IIS /NOFORCE

VI – Create new web site collection with url : http://SharepointServer.com/sites/mysite and SP_Admin as administrator

Once created website is not available (IE cannot display the page)

Run IISRESET /NOFORCE

Mysite is not available and if I try to reach http://Sharepointserver.com , same error.

Non mention about UPS is not available as expecting in harbar article.

VII – Create a new service application

Name: User profile synchronization

Pool : new one : SharePoint Web Service Default

User: SP_Services

Databse: Default database settings
