The SharePoint 2010 Database Maintenance PDF from Microsoft states that you should use SQL Maintenance Plans to rebuild indexes and update statistics. However, a Microsoft support personnel stated that we should let the SharePoint Health Analyzer rules handle this.
Which is right? Should I disable the rules and use SQL or just let SharePoint handle it? Are their benefits for using one over the other?
