QUESTION TO BE ANSWERED: Estimation of how long it will take to setup SharePoint 2010 Foundations from start to finish? - Step by Step and time each step would take.
BACKGROUND: My manager needs a detailed list of the steps necessary to install SharePoint 2010 Foundation on my Server and Clients as well as the amount of time those steps will take. I know in order to setup my Server that Active Directories
need to be running. I have a person on staff that will accomplish that task for me. He estimated that it should take no more than 2 hours (Probably a lot less he said). First of all, is there any other preparation the Server needs besides
Active Directories being setup? Second, what is a list of all the other steps to install? I have already downloaded the appropriate SharePoint 2010 Foundations to a CD that is ready to put in the Server to install. What will
be involved after that? What needs to be done to the clients to make that happen? Is there a YouTube video that is particularly good?
WHY AM I INSTALLING SHAREPOINT 2010 FOUNDATION?: Basically, for one reason and one reason only: Document Collaboration for a team of 3 or 4 people. That's it.
WHO AM I? A Database Programmer / Developer. I do have a guy who understands Server Stuff that will be available to help, if necessary, but is very busy. He has agreed to help me by setting up the Active Directories, but that I will be on
the hook to do everything else.
THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ALL OF THE THOUGHTFUL RESPONSES. I need help with this as soon as possible.
