When I run
the powershell script (Update-SPProfilePhotoStore -MySiteHostLocation http://siteaddress) it pulls the images in like
it should but they do not show on the persons profile page. I have noticed that
instead of the picture being named something like domain_username.jpg like I
noticed in the past the name of the image is

guidID_101.jpg

guidID_102.jpg

I don’t think
I have ever seen the images come in that way so I am assuming that is why they
are not on the profile page. The other thing that is interesting is it is just
creating one image not the small, medium and large image versions.<o:p></o:p>

I created a user property in Central Admin (SP 2010). I added a value for a valid user. But I cannot see that as a crawled property. Not sure what the naming convention would be like? So when I want to add a new Managed Property I am not sure what property to map to. I did a full crawl but that does not help.

Any ideas of what is going wrong. Thanks a bunch.

When am running powershell commands if there is an exception am able to write the exception message to a log file by placing a try catch block and writing the $_Exception.Message to the log file.

But when there is an error in the powershell how can I write the error message to the log file. It is just priniting it on the console.

            I have written Designer Workflow for Pausing a uploaded document  for 365 days then moving to sub-site and deleting the document from document library .When time comes to delete the document after pausing for 365 days and moving document to sub-site it is showing Error Occurred as"Item not Found". Then I clicked on "Error Occurred" and showing below info.I would like to know weather this workflow has moved automatically or moved by user "White".Can any one help me for what purpose the user white name has taken place here.

Just wanted to get the forums feedback or thoughts regarding this matter:

A Company that have a Oracle system. A lot of users resides in this system.

The same users needs access to an external SharePoint foundation with FBA, which resides outside the domain forest.

To save time and redundant user accounts creation, these users’ needs to be copied to the external SQL DB on a daily basis.  (security way - "inside to outside") 

Besides that, the individual password for the user account in the FBA database is encrypted – so the password just needs to be encrypted (with ?) upon transfer, correct?  

any thoughts is highly appreciated.

We are having SQL server 2008 R2 SQL instance in Windows 2008 R2 cloud server. Recently we had upadated SQL server 2008 R2 SP2 in this server. But now a days we are facing this below issue.

generated fatal exception c0000005 EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION. SQL Server is terminating this process." , in SQL Server 2008 R2

Msdn suggested that, we can resove this issue by updating SQL Server 2008 R2 SP1 CU10.

Is it right way to update SP1 CU10 on top of SP2 ? Since SP2 is not covered the CU10 !

Please check and suggest.

I have migrated a publishing site collection from moss 2007 to sharepoint 2010
only on the root site , pages list ' each time I checkin or publish a page from the page itself , or try to create a new page in the pages list i get an error , which points to the log file there I find the errors : "Template Discovery/InitScriptData: cannot get user profile, no UserProfileApplicationProxy exists in the current context"

and

I cannot get SQL Reporting Services 2008 R2 to work with a datasource that is a sharepoint list.  Reporting services seems to work fine setup in SharePoint 2010 Integrated mode.

When I try and run a report that is based on a sharepoint list, I immediatly get the following error:

The report execution tp15sp4515l3seqqo4do3e45 has expired or cannot be found. (rsExecutionNotFound)

This seems to be something I am doing wrong with the sharepoint configuration, I would guess.  I haven't tried a regular database query, but they used to work when reporting services was configured for native mode.  So I assume this is just a problem connecting to sharepoint 2010 lists, with the new SharePoint 2010 List connection type.

Edit This has got to have something to do with a permission setting for the app pool account of sharepoint.  I read something once where it said you had to grant it permissions, but every guide I've found since then doesn't mention anything about it.

This log entry is where the problem seems to be occuring, I just don't know what permissions to give TESTDOMAIN\spweb which is the app pool account.

Is anyone else having the same problem. At first I thought the resource string wasn't specified for en-AU, but I changed the regional settings to English (United States) and still encountered the same problem.

hi - i have an Active Directory sync set up within the User Profile Sync service.   I've done a full sync and can see the basic user properties from the user profiles page.   when i go to add a new user property, under the Add New Mapping section,  i see that the Source Data Connection is set properly, however, when i click on the drop-down for the Attributes, none of the attributes from AD are there.   Any ideas why they may be missing?

I tested the same scenario in a different dev environment and can see the custom properties under the dropdown Attributes.   The profile sync is set up the exact same way here.    

I'm trying to set up what should be a simple SP2010 Foundation (en/us) farm.

Environment: 

One seperate SQL 2008 R2 with sp1 on a win 2008 r2 standard with sp1

3 WFE's each running win 2008 r2 Standard with sp1. The OS has the webserver and application role as well as a lot of features. The .Net version is 3.5.1

WFE 1 has all the SP prerequisities installed without errors as well as SP2010 Foundation (en/us) with SP1 and CU june 2011 and CU october 2011. Furthermore Service Pack for Microsoft Windows KB976932, update for Microsoft Windows kb976902 and the kb974405.

SP installation was installed using a SP_ADMIN account member of the Domain and local admin on the OS.

The installation account (SP_ADMIN) has decreator and securityadmin as a SQL longin account in the SQL on the instance.

There are no SQL errors in the SQL log and the config and config admin content db seems to be created ok.

SQL allows tcp/ip trafic.

Firewall on the OS hosting the SQL server allows tp/ip traffic through 1433. Firewall settings are turned off on the WFE's.

Running the SP 2010 Product Configuration Wizard creating a new Farm (this is the first installation...)

but when I search online on google there is guide to build web application for My site on port 80.

but PWA is already using Port 80.

now tell me how to create new web application on port 80.if no need to create on port 80. then what to do. how complete this

I have a domain name like contoso_xyz. In User Profile; some domain names are correctly imported, but some of them are only xyz. I searched about it, they say it maybe netbios issue that for some reason sharepoint does not get anything after dot but I don't it is not related to my issue since I don't have dot, and it gets after underscore. So, because of this problem, I cannot setup Audience, and also it causes so many problems. Could anyone help me about this problem?

Just to put an example together I have DomainA, DomainB, DomainC, and DomainD and currently they all show in the people picker.  How do I remove DomainA from the people picker results.

Two different backup methods with two different results. I'm well aware of that an SQL backup isn't recommended when wanting to restore SharePoint Farm Data, such as Sites and Web Parts, but also that a normal SharePoint Farm backup has it's flaws regarding time restorations points and such, where this wouldn't be a problem for an SQL backup.

Question: Do these two backup methods go well together, as in...the two jobs would overlap each other?

I would like to be able to use both methods, how would one go about doing that? Is there something needed to be taking into consideration, such as version history, that an SQL backup wouldn't accidentaly overwrite an Farm Backup?

Any help/tips much appreciated! :)
